Canada enters the Hague Apostille Convention!

After decades of backward, old fashioned and painful legalizations through embassies: Canada will finally enforce the Apostille Convention of the Hague from 11/JAN/2024!

China is now part of the Hague Apostille Convention

It is with great delight that China is now part of the Hague Apostille convention from today (07/NOV/2023). Unfortunately the Chinese Apostilles are not (yet) recognized by India and any other states not recognized by China, but this will most likely change in the (near) future.

Indonesia signed the Apostille Convention

From the 4th June 2022: Indonesia will now be able to certify documents with an Apostille (and also accept such documents). It is paramount for a country to be part of this Convention as it increases commerce and investments. Wyoming Annual Report prices increase from 1st July 2021

The Wyoming Secretary of State is increasing its prices: from $50 to $60 for the Annual Report ; from $0 to $5 for a change of registered agent ; $10 per Series (at creation time or incorporation time). It was possible to create an unlimited amount of Series before that date: too bad if you have missed this opportunity. Our company has just saved $400 because we had created forty Series. The US adopts the “Corporate Transparency Act” requiring the disclosure of Beneficial Ownership

In a world where transparency is always increasing: the US has adopted the “Corporate Transparency Act” requiring the disclosure of any Beneficial Owner having over 25% control. The Act includes the LLCs and Statutory Trusts as reporting entities. This will be enforced no later than: 1st January 2023. The Seychelles creates a register of beneficial owners

In March 2020 the beneficial owners of every companies in the Seychelles will be registered in a database to which the Financial Intelligence Unit and other local agencies have direct access. The register only accepts natural persons and do not accept legal persons. It has to be noted that both the nominee and the nominator have to be registered. If the beneficial owner is a trust there is no shelter: either the settlor or all the beneficial owners will have to be registered. Belize does not renew 16 operators

What a genocide by the Belize IFSC: they did not renew 16 operators. The announcement is made at the end of April 2020 with effect from the 1st January 2020! That is a real problem with license-based jurisdictions (Seychelles is another one): suddenly an entire list of companies created by those operators become illegal. The Gambia new Companies Registry

Since August, 2013 the West African country The Gambia launched its new iCommerce Registry of The Gambia. Behind this is the will of Captain Yahya A.J.J.Jammeh, the dictator so called “President of The Gambia”. We do not advise anybody to register a company there.
