Brittiska Jungfruöarna (BVI (Brittiska Jungfru)) antar ekonomiska substanskrav tillämpliga fr.o.m 1 januari 2019 (med en övergångsperiod på sex månader för befintliga juridiska personer) om det bedriver någon av följande "relevanta aktiviteter":
- bankverksamhet
- insurance business
- fund management business
- finance and leasing business
- huvudkontorsverksamhet
- fraktverksamhet
- holding business
- immateriella rättigheter
- distribution and service centre business.
If the economic substance fail, the BVI non-resident company needs to show that it is resident (and taxed) in another jurisdiction. Companies registered in the BVI are widely used in Hong Kong.
