Efektif 1 April 2020: biaya pemeliharaan tahunan meningkat dari US$450 menjadi US$500 untuk semua LLC dan IBC. Kemitraan dan Badan Maritim Asing (FME) tidak berubah.

Peningkatan ini disebabkan oleh biaya kepatuhan terhadap peraturan Substansi Ekonomi yang didorong oleh Uni Eropa ke Kepulauan Marshall.

Berbicara tentang Kedaulatan: do not be surprised Brexit happened. After all the Marshall Islands are not in the EU so it is easy to walk on them. It was written already: the Article 4(2) of the Treaty on European Union respects other Member States only.

Let’s send a big thank you to the European Union for making everyone US$50 poorer! Fortunately: that extra levy will go to the Marshall Islands (and not the EU!).
